When an RYE student finishes their exchange, most of
them look for ways to travel and spend time in another part of the
world. Many students from South America and Eastern Europe work for
a winter in the ski resorts of California and Nevada, and in the Reno and
Las Vegas hotels/casinos. When a former RYE student arrives for
their new job, they usually contact the local Rotaract club, ROTEX group,
or Rotary Club. Mariana and Guillermo from Brazil are working the
2006-07 ski season in South Lake Tahoe, CA. They contacted the
Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe and give a presentation about what Rotary
Youth Exchange means to them. Their presentation at the Rotary Club
of South Lake Tahoe was also attended by former, current, and future
exchange students.
